Santa Ramaherison
A drop in the Ocean
This project tackles the issue of Ocean Acidification by replacing fossil fuel based materials used for takeaway trays with CO2 capturing materials (oyster shells), CO2 absorbing minerals (Olivine) and seaweed which not only cuts down CO2 emissions, but also has the added value to help regenerate ecosystems at the end of life of the product.
Santa (he/him) is a Paris and London based malagasy design-researcher interested in biodesign, and sustainable innovation. Coming from the MA Material Futures, he works at the intersection of design, science, and technology. His work reflects on issues around climate change’s present and future impacts, through the design of systems and products as tools for positive change.
